ACTIVITY INFORMATION :

 
The 8th biannual EMCCS meeting will be held in Berlin at CharitéCrossOver (CCO) Auditorium, Charité Campus, Berlin on July 6th, 2018 immediately before the FENS meeting, where we will present and discuss exciting science. 

The meeting will survey recent discoveries in the field of molecular and cellular cognition. There will be 14 oral presentations including 4 speakers chosen from submitted abstracts. As in previous occasions, we intend to have a Poster and lunch session. Posters will be on display from 12:15 to 19:00. Please notice the poster boards are vertical (not as in FENS).

 Invited speakers include: Raffaella Tonini (Instituto Italiano di Technologia, Genova, Italy), Marianne Fyhn (University of Oslo, Norway), Yiota Poirazi (Insitute of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Greece), Frédéric Saudou (University Grenoble Alpes, France), Ted Abel (University of Iowa, USA), Oliver Stork (Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg), Bong-Kiun Kaang (Seoul National University, South Korea), Emmanuel Valjent (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, France), Giovanni Marsicano (Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale, France), and Asya Rolls (Rappaport Medical School, Technion, Israel Institute of Technology).

If you are an eligible neuroscientist (see eligibility criteria) and want to become a member of EMCCS, you can apply using this link  (no membership fee!). Click "join FENS", fill out the "become a member" registration form", and select "EMCCS" as your society.

YOU MUST REGISTER AT EVENTBRITE TO ATTEND THIS MEETING (registration to the FENS Forum does not grant access to this Satellite event!).

In order the cover the expenses related to the organization we will have to charge a small fee:

60 EUR for regular members; 35 EUR for pregraduate and Ph.D. students

No membership required, but attendees must obtain tickets purchased here (Eventbrite tickets).

Discount will be given for early purchase, until May 15th, 2018: 50 EUR for regular members; 28 EUR for pregraduate students, M.Sc./Ph.D. students, and postdoctoral fellows.

The purpose of the registration fees is to cover the costs of coffee breaks and poster sessions. Lunch is not included in this price.

Deadlines
- Registration opens on FEBRUARY 1st, 2018.
Abstract submission closes on JUNE 20th, 2018 (extended). Please submit your abstract early, especially if you would like to be selected for oral presentation or travel grant.
- Registration closes on JUNE 30th, 2018.

- Early purchase discount ticket closes on May 15th, 2018. Hurry and get your discount ticket!

 

Travel grants

We are happy to announce that we have received IBRO funding for travel grants for the upcoming EMCCS-FENS satellite event.

Travel grants of 400 EUR will be awarded to four speakers selected from abstracts and six winners of the best poster competition.
