A SATELLITE EVENT OF THE FENS FORUM 2012, BARCELONA


Fens & Cosmo Caixa obra socialThe 5th annual EMCCS-FENS satellite meeting will be held in Barcelona on July 12th and 13th, 2012 just prior to the FENS meeting.
An evening "wine and cheese poster session" will be held on the 12th followed by a symposium with 4 sessions on the 13th.
There will be a total of 16 oral presentations with 8 of the speakers chosen from submitted abstracts (deadline for abstract submission to be considered as a speaker was June 10th, but you can contact the meeting organizer if you are interested in presenting a poster after this deadline).


PROGRAMM


The list of speakers includes Cristina Alberini (NYU), Alon Chen (Weizmann Institute), Rafael Fernandez-Chacon (Universidad de Sevilla), Andre Fischer(European Neuroscience Institute Göttingen), Agnès Gruart (Universidad Pablo de Olavide), Andres Ozaita (Universidad Pompeu Fabra), Hélène Marie(IPMC ­ CNRS), and Lawrence Wilkinson (Cardiff University). POSTER SESSION


Poster sessions will be held in the Ágora space at the meeting venue. Posters will be on display, from 17:30 to 20:00 in the evening of July 12th. *** Poster boards will have a landscape format, approximately 135 cm wide and 95 cm high. *** (Please note that the poster boards are narower than those used at FENS).

Abstract submission for oral presentation is close, but you can still register your poster (deadline July 10th)

VENUE LOCATION : CosmoCaixa Barcelona

CosmoCaixa is a large and modern Science Museum funded by Obra Social ”la Caixa”. The building, with more than 50.000 m2 includes nine floors, and a large open plaza. The Museum also includes an open space for the Wine and Cheese/ Poster session (Thursday, July 12th) and a large Auditorium for the conferences meeting (Friday, July 13th). In addition, all registered attendees to the EMCCS meeting are invited to visit the interactive science exhibition for free.

NEWS: On July 12th, coinciding with our posters session, it is the opening of a exciting exhibition about the Art and Science of Santiago Ramón y Cajal, the father of modern Neurosciences. Public transportation:

Buses: 17, 22, 58, 73, 75, 60 and 196. CosmoCaixa stop.
Tramvia Blau (touristic attraction stopping few meters away from the Museum entrance).
Train: Ferrocarriles de la Generalitat de Catalunya, stop in Avinguda del Tibidabo station.
Car: Ronda de Dalt, exit 6 and 7.
